Workshop on “Project-Based Learning (PBL) + Solidarity Service-Learning” for faculty and teaching assistants in the Biomechanics and Functional Anatomy Chair.
On Saturday, 9th May, the professional development workshop “PBL + Service-Learning” was held for faculty members of the Biomechanics and Functional Anatomy Chair. This session was tailored for the Bachelor’s Degree Programme in Physical Therapy and Physical Medicine at the School of Medical Sciences, University of Buenos Aires (UBA).
Prof. Graciela del Campo, a trainer with the CLAYSS team, led the workshop as part of efforts to provide training and reinforce innovative educational experiences related to solidarity service-learning.
Twenty members of the department—including faculty members, lab supervisors, tutors, teaching assistants, and students—gathered in Classroom 8 on the basement level of the School of Medicine throughout the morning. As in previous years, Dr. Cristina Oleari, led a discussion on the contributions of the SSL approach to the mandatory annual PBL practical work carried out by second-year Kinesiology undergraduates. Additionally, participants made progress on developing a satisfaction assessment tool for the beneficiaries of community-based initiatives.
Dr. Oleari, full professor of the organizing chair, highlighted the institutional support and guidance provided by CLAYSS in making this space for professional development and pedagogical reflection possible.
