Uniservitate and the Universidad Católica de La Plata Share a Day Discussing and Learning

In the context of the 21st International Service-Learning Week, members of the Universitate programme (https://www.uniservitate.org/) visited the ‘Santa Clara de Asís’ solidarity service-learning centre, an innovative educational space working as a part of the UCALP Secretary of Extension, where they were welcomed by María Wlasiuk and Rita Gajate (UCALP’s rector). María Rosa Tapia and Andrés Peregalli, coordinator and vice-coordinator of Universitate, respectively, left early in the morning with the group of members of the programme who arrived in Buenos Aires from Australia, Belgium, Chile, Spain, USA, Philippines, Italy, Kenya, Mexico, Poland, Singapore, South Africa, Taiwan, Tanzania, Uganda and from different cities in Argentina.

The group engaged in a joint activity with the community: a team led by Carlos Pinto and Licia Rizzardi (UNLP and UCALP) made illustrations from the stories previously sent by some programme members.

In the afternoon, they participated in a workshop and shared the SSL experiences developed by each university of the Uniservitate programme. The day ended with a mass celebration by Monsignor Jorge González (La Plata) and Father Dr. Leo Simon I. Mwenda (University of Tangaza).

The group also joined the International Conference on Thursday and Friday, as panellists in some cases, and as audience in others.
