Service-Learning in the Arts Programme Enters Sixth Year

During 2024, the Support Programme for Solidarity Educational Institutions Service-Learning in the Arts will work with institutions at all levels to improve and develop their initiatives. Six new institutions (three from Argentina, one from Brazil and two from Colombia) will join the ones working in their second year of training.

They all receive a grant to develop new projects or improve the existing ones. Additionally, they will get several service-learning training instances, monitoring and technical assistance from the CLAYSS team.

We welcomed the following institutions to this new year of joint work:

Argentina: Fray Justo Santa María de Oro Primary School, Primary Level, Buenos Aires; Centro Aurora, Teacher Training, Catamarca; Universidad Nacional de Jujuy, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University Level, Jujuy; Instituto Superior de Formación Docente y Técnica N° 9-030 “Del Bicentenario”, Teacher Training, Mendoza; Escuela 217 Ángel María Soria, Primary Level, Tucumán; CEJA “Hijos del Dr. José Perea Muñoz”, Vocational Training for Adults, Tucumán.

Brazil: EMEI Alceu Maynard de Araújo, Pre-primary Level, São Paulo; EMEF Badra, Secondary Level, São Paulo; Escola Estadual Antonio Caputo, Primary and Secondary Level, São Paulo.

Colombia: Pontifical Xavierian University de Cali, Higher education, Valle del Cauca; Luis Ernesto Vanegas Neira Educational Institute, Pre-primary, Primary and Secondary school, Tolima; Niño Jesús de Praga school, Pre-primary, Primary and Secondary school, Tolima.

So far, the Service-Learning in the Arts programme has trained more than 4,700 people (administrators, educators and students) and has guided 50 institutions. Over 350,000 people have benefitted from service-learning in the Arts initiatives.
