CLAYSS Continues Working for Solidarity Education

As in previous years, we met with Argentina’s national education authorities to discuss the schedule of the upcoming International Service-Learning Conference, the planned activities for the year, and potential collaboration opportunities.

Dr. Carlos Torrendell, the National Secretary of Education of Argentina, warmly welcomed our director, Nieves Tapia, and our executive director, Enrique Ochoa. He accepted the invitation to the Conference, where he has previously participated as a teacher. In addition, Dr. Torrendell confirmed the continuity of the National Solidarity Education Programme and the Presidential Award “Solidarity Schools” —excellent news for those involved in education, particularly those focused on solidarity service learning.

Later on, the National Director of Inclusion and Educational Extension of Argentina, Mauricio Terrón Miguez, also joined the meeting.
