A Free, Hybrid, International Event: VII Uniservitate Global Symposium in Italy

Held in Castel Gandolfo and broadcast online, the symposium offered high-quality professional development for faculty and administrators in Catholic higher education worldwide.

Each year, CLAYSS and its global programme, Uniservitate, invites universities engaged in solidarity service-learning to participate in their flagship annual event. The VII Uniservitate Global Symposium took place in a hybrid format on 26th and 27th October 2026 in Castel Gandolfo, Italy, hosted by LUMSA University, our local partners. For those unable to attend in person, sessions were live-streamed on YouTube Live via @clayssdigital (Spanish) and @uniservitate (English).

Centred around the motto “Designing Maps of Hope Through Service-Learning”, the seventh edition brought together scholars, university officials, faculty, international networks, church representatives, and students from around the world to share their work and experiences on solidarity service-learning in higher education.

This year’s event will also feature winning projects from the Uniservitate Award 2026 —the only international award of its kind— which provides financial support to sustain high-impact initiatives and offers full grants to winning faculty and students.
