Institutions distinguished with Argentina’s ‘Solidarity Schools Presidential Award’ in 2024

Educational institutions from all over the country submitted 437 solidarity education projects for the 17th edition of the Presidential Award ‘Solidarity Schools’.

Enrique Ochoa —Executive Director, CLAYSS— was part of the selection jury, and highlighted the quality of the projects presented. Sixty-one finalist experiences were selected, which are listed below in order of distinction awarded:

First prizes:

  • Buenos Aires, Quilmes. Integration and Development Centre. Special secondary school. Experience: Do you want to make a vegetable garden?
  • Jujuy, Tilcara. Secondary School of Art No. 49. Experience: [Simbando Melodías].
  • Río Negro, Villa Regina. Centro de Enseñanza Técnica N°18. Technical secondary school. Experience: ‘Inclusive cane’ / ‘PAS Braille’.
  • San Juan, Dos Acequias. Primary School ‘Provincia de Neuquén’. Regular primary school. Experience: ‘Infusion-Art Tea of aromatic herbs stored in clay pots inspired by art’.
  • Tucumán, San Miguel de Tucumán. Technical School Nº1 ‘Independencia Argentina’. Technical secondary school. Experience: ‘Creating Games and Smiles in the Classroom’.
  • Tucumán, San Miguel de Tucumán. Professional Training School N°2 ‘Mercedes San Martin de Balcarce’. Job training. Experience: ‘Attachment Dolls and Sensory Books. Stimulating Development and Affective Bonding through Textile Creation’.

Second Prizes:

  • Chubut, Esquel. School N°713 ‘Juan Abdala Chayep’. Secondary school. Experience: ‘Donate 713’.
  • Córdoba, Valle Hermoso. Kindergarten ‘Capitán Juan de Zeballos’. Initial level. Experience: ‘My friend the little tree’.
  • Tucumán, San Miguel de Tucumán. CEJA ‘José Manuel Estrada’. Primary school for adults. Experience: ‘Electricidad Solidaria- La escuela sale al barrio’ [Solidarity Electricity- The school goes out to the neighbourhood].
  • Tucumán, Marapa. Juan Bautista Alberdi’ Agrotechnical School, Agrotechnical Secondary School. Experience: Natural Legacy: ‘Reinsertion of the Guayacán tree in the locality of the same name’.
  • Tucumán, Gastona Norte. Gregorio Araoz de Lamadrid’ Secondary School. Regular secondary school. Experience: ‘La Gregorio emprende’.
