This year, the 22nd International Service-Learning Week celebrated a very special meeting of the Ibero-American ServiceLearning Network (REDIBAS): Its 20th anniversary.
On Tuesday, 19th August, the first activity of the week was a new REDIBAS meeting, bringing together national networks from Argentina, Chile, Spain, Colombia, Uruguay, Mexico, the United States and the Marist Network for Service-Learning, alongside several representatives from Peru, Venezuela, Portugal, Uruguay, and Paraguay, among others.
Participants from all levels of the educational community and social organizations attended the meeting, some in person and others online.
REDIBAS works throughout the year and guarantees one general meeting per semester. The first one in 2025 took place in April during the NYLC Conference in Minnesota, USA. This time, the second meeting was held in Buenos Aires, offering the opportunity to celebrate 20 years of uninterrupted work with people and networks across the American continent and the Iberian Peninsula.
During the meeting at the Argentine Secretariat for Education building, a timeline was presented highlighting the milestones of the last twenty years. It was a collaborative effort that gave networks the chance to share their experiences and support, and accompany each other in their development.
We are grateful to each participant and the networks present and celebrate once again this meeting and their active participation.
