A key highlight of the 27th Conference included the presentation of the new book La solidaridad como futuro de la educación. perspectiva desde la experiencia iberoamericana del aprendizaje-servicio [Solidarity as the future of education. A perspective from the Ibero-American service-learning experience], published jointly by UNESCO and CLAYSS. It is available in Spanish for free download on CLAYSS web. The volume discusses the findings of the latest UNESCO report on the future of education and service-learning. It explores real experiences developed in Ibero-America, where solidarity is no longer a learning content but a pedagogy that helps solve complex real-life problems and implement the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a ‘curriculum’ for the education of the future. The book includes insights from experts from different countries and policy perspectives. The general editors, Zelmira May (UNESCO office for Latin America and the Caribbean) and Nieves Tapia, along with the editor, Elena Massat, participated in the presentation. Daniel Filmus, former Minister of Education and current director of the Ibero-American Centre for Research in Science, Technology and Innovation, provided commentary.
