During October and November, educators, coordinators and authorities of the Casa Salesiana de Santa Cruz participated in a special edition of the introductory course “Education for Transformation: The Service-Learning Approach” (https://www.clayss.org/capacitacion/). The course aimed to promote and strengthen the development of educational practices focusing on youth leadership, fraternity and solidarity.
The course covered the basic concepts underpinning the service-learning pedagogy and the implementation of a solidarity-based educational project, taking into account the guidelines and principles of the Global Compact on Education —an initiative launched by Pope Francis, inviting us to join forces to bring about social and cultural transformation through education.
On this occasion, Isabel Tresca, from the Uniservitate Programme of CLAYSS, shared her international and regional experience in the Marist Network, generating an enriching exchange during the synchronous meeting.
