Compiled by Mar\u00eda Alejandra Herrero, Enrique Ochoa, and Agustina Cama\u00f1o, it is a valuable resource for researchers and specialists in solidarity service-learning. Its access is free on our website and includes the papers presented and approved at the seventh edition held on 20th August at the UBA Faculty of Dentistry, as part of the International Solidarity Service-Learning Week in Buenos Aires. This digital book is a collection of eight short stories written by authors from various countries and languages, and is available for free download from the <em>Uniservitate<\/em> repository. \u00a0This anthology celebrates cultural diversity and the power of shared words. You can read it in Spanish and English, and in some cases, in its original language\u2014Dutch, Filipino, Luganda, or Polish. The stories are also available in both written and audio formats. The book, compiled by Isabel Tresca (CLAYSS) and Mar\u00eda de los \u00c1ngeles Wlasiuk (UCALP), is intended as an educational and cultural resource to promote values like solidarity, community, respect for diversity, and care for our Common Home.<\/p>\n<p>The foreword, written by Mar\u00eda Rosa Tapia and Andr\u00e9s Peregalli, coordinator and vice-coordinator of the Uniservitate Global Network, explains the purpose of this publication: to foster encounters between individuals and institutions that participated in the 21st International Solidarity Service-Learning Week, organized by CLAYSS in August 2024. As they explain, the initiative sought to ensure that the visit to <strong>Santa Clara de As\u00eds Centre<\/strong>, the UCALP solidarity service-learning center, did not limit to passive observation, but encouraged a genuine exchange of stories, gestures, and dreams among people from different parts of the world. They also refer to the genesis of the project: an international meeting that convened representatives from universities in 17 countries in La Plata, Argentina. The participants were invited to tell children&#8217;s stories in their native language related to fraternity and the values of solidarity service-learning. These stories were then illustrated by professors and students from UCALP and UNLP and read aloud to children and families in the neighbourhood where the Santa Clara de As\u00eds Centre is located, while the undergraduates carried out their service practices concerning health and nutrition. The production process spanned several months, involving the book translation, edition, rights transfer, and audio recording ultimately becoming its current edition.<\/p>\n<p>The stories and authors included are: The Moon Extinguishers of Mechelen, by Marie-An Knops (KU Leuven, Belgium); Lolita\u2019s Tortillas, by M\u00f3nica Hayde\u00e9 Ramos (DePaul University, United States\u2013Mexico); The Tale of Mariang Makiling, by Romina Elo\u00edsa Abuan (De La Salle University, Philippines); The Tale of Mr. Rooster, Mr. Cat, Mr. Dog and Mr. Donkey, by Charles Senteza, Bernard Luwerekera and John Baptist Kalama (University of Kisubi, Uganda); The Legend of Ansenuza Sea, by Daniela Gargantini (Universidad Cat\u00f3lica de C\u00f3rdoba, Argentina); The Lublin Billy Goat Teaches Children to Play Together, by Sylwia Maria Gwiazdowska Stanczak and Katarzyna Ma\u0142gorzata \u0141ogo\u017cna Wypych (The John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin, Philippines); The Legend of the Waterfall, by the Uniservitate team; and A Group of Friends, by the Universidad Cat\u00f3lica de La Plata, Argentina.<\/p>\n<p>Each story has illustrations created by professors and students from both universities, who participated as &#8220;solidarity illustrators&#8221;. Professors from the Visual Language 3 department at the UNLP School of Arts were Carlos Pinto, Yanina Hualde, Micaela Brest, Luc\u00eda Pinto, and Taormina Lisboa; while professors and students from the Editorial Design department of the Bachelor&#8217;s Degree in Visual Design from UCALP were Licia Rizzardi, Josefina Ricci, and Florencia Cuadrado.
