{"id":8056,"date":"2025-12-02T12:52:46","date_gmt":"2025-12-02T15:52:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.clayss.org\/?p=8056"},"modified":"2025-12-02T12:53:27","modified_gmt":"2025-12-02T15:53:27","slug":"closing-of-the-vi-uniservitate-global-symposium-and-a-busy-week-in-germany","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.clayss.org\/en\/closing-of-the-vi-uniservitate-global-symposium-and-a-busy-week-in-germany\/","title":{"rendered":"Closing of the VI Uniservitate Global Symposium and a Busy Week in Germany"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On 6th and 7th November, the <strong>VI <em>Uniservitate<\/em> Global Symposium<\/strong> was held in a hybrid format at the Catholic University of Eichst\u00e4tt-Ingolstadt (Germany), streaming on YouTube worldwide. More than <strong>500 participants from 55 countries<\/strong> took part in this meeting, which brought together leaders from Catholic universities and international academic networks to discuss the theme: <strong>&#8220;Service-Learning in a Fragile World: Universities nourishing Peace and Hope.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It was organized by Uniservitate \u2014a global network promoted by CLAYSS with the support of Porticus\u2014 and the <strong>Catholic University of Eichst\u00e4tt-Ingolstadt<\/strong>, which coordinates the Uniservitate hub for Central and Eastern Europe and the Middle East. Over two days, panels and discussion forums underlined how the service-learning approach helps to address the current challenges facing humanity with hope.<\/p>\n<p>The Prefect of the <strong>Dicastery for Culture and Education, Cardinal Jos\u00e9 Tolentino de Mendon\u00e7a<\/strong>, participated with a video message in which he stated that service-learning fully embodies the calling to educate for service and through service because &#8220;serving is not an appendage of the educational process, but its beating heart.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mar\u00eda Rosa Tapia<\/strong>, Coordinator of Uniservitate, attended the event in Eichst\u00e4tt, alongside <strong>Andr\u00e9s Peregalli<\/strong>, vice-coordinador, and <strong>Candelaria Ferrara<\/strong>, coordinator of regional hubs.
