Training Day on Service-Learning in Rosario, Argentina

On Monday, 18th September, the Regional Board of Catholic Education of Rosario, Argentina, hosted an intensive training day in Rosario with the participation of CLAYSS. The meeting began with an online presentation of the basics of the service-learning pedagogy by our director, Nieves Tapia. Participants then attended a workshop that went over the central concepts of service-learning while focusing on the curriculum aspects and horizontal solidarity. An exploratory conversation made it possible to work on existing experiences. The atmosphere generated favoured the exchange, and the inspiration provided by the different projects resulted in discussions centred on the process. Collaborating in groups proved to be instrumental in enhancing the design of several discussed projects. The CLAYSS trainers, Laura Nicoletti and Adriana Hernández, led the workshop and provided support and guidance to the participating teachers, clarifying concepts and suggesting new ideas that strengthened the ones that first emerged in the exchange.
