Service-Learning in the Arts

Service-Learning in the Arts

The Support Programme for Solidarity-based Education Institutions “Service-Learning in the Arts” works with schools and higher education institutions in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Peru, offering training sessions to educators, school authorities, CSO leaders, public officials working in education and students engaged in service-learning and arts education projects.

Since 2017, we have trained more than 4200 people—including authorities, educators and students—while accompanying 50 institutions in Argentina, Brazil and Colombia: they got trained in Service-Learning in the Arts and improved and/or developed their projects.

Since its inception, one of the objectives of the Programme has been to collect evidence and experiences on how to foster service-learning as part of Arts Education in the formal education system; CLAYSS has worked closely with Argentine educational institutions that develop service-learning in Arts projects, and we have witnessed the social effects they have to improve their communities.

In 2023 the Programme has accompanied 6 educational institutions from Argentina, 3 from Brazil, Colombia and Peru.
