Escuelas para el encuentro. Cómo desarrollar proyectos de aprendizaje-servicio solidario [Schools for encounter. How to develop solidarity service-learning projects]. Second revised edition, by María Nieves Tapia.
This text is an updated version of the first edition of “‘Escuelas para el encuentro”, published in 2017, in collaboration between CLAYSS (Latin American Centre for Solidarity Service-Learning) and Scholas Occurentes. The second edition, presented here and shared during the 22nd International Week of Solidarity Service-Learning in Buenos Aires, was updated for translation into Portuguese thanks to the generous initiative of the Brazilian publishing house FTD Educação, and in Spanish, produced by CLAYSS with the collaboration of Scholas.

El aprendizaje servicio: un filón de humanización y compromiso social en la universidad [Service Learning: A Source of Humanisation and Social Commitment at University], by Ana Isabel Muñoz Alcón, Francy Diomar Rodríguez Tibocha, José Antonio Pérez Carcedo, Francisco Javier Hernández Varas and Marta Nieves Gómez Pérez.
This book presents a diachronic study of solidarity service-learning initiatives carried out by university students from different degrees and areas between 2015 and 2023 at the Catholic University of Santa Teresa de Jesús in Ávila, Spain. It presents the projects implemented, their participants and the communities involved, in addition to an assessment of their results in terms of learning, motivation, skills development, and values. Evidence of the effect on students, faculty members and participating communities paves the way for the definitive incorporation of this active approach into the educational project of the university.
