Online Training: Academic Integration of Service-Learning for Administrators at UCH in Peru

During January and February 2026, CLAYSS delivered the course the online course “El aprendizaje y servicio solidario en el curriculum: propuestas y desafíos en la Universidad del siglo XXI [Solidarity Service-Learning in the Curriculum: Recommendations and Challenges at the 21st-Century University]”, in collaboration with UCH, the University of Sciences and Liberal Arts in Peru.

Fifty professors from different schools at the Universidad de Ciencias y Humanidades (UCH) participated in the training programme, taking part in eight online intensive sessions dedicated to reflection, exchange and joint work.

During the course, participants worked on the design and development of curriculum plans including service-learning, exploring strategies to bridge the gap between the university and the community, and enrich the educational value of academic learning.

This training combined conceptual analysis with mentoring sessions to help teams advanced in specific projects, integrating service-learning into their respective degree programmes and courses.

CLAYSS would like to especially thank the UCH authorities for their trust, as well as the commitment and active participation of the lecturers participating in this initiative.
