8th October is the Solidarity Student Day in Argentina*. To mark this occasion, we held an in-person meeting for educators in Buenos Aires, together with TICMAS, and an online meeting for those who could not attend or were too far away. Does your school change lives? was the title chosen to invite participants to join us. Luz Avruj, our Institutional Relations and Network Coordinator, led the presentation and discussion, together with Sara Argañaráz Escasany from TICMAS.
The interest that service-learning generates among educators is evident at each meeting and grows exponentially when they hear first-hand about the results obtained in communities through community-based educational projects led by youth worldwide. At CLAYSS, we support and train educators at all levels who are interested in implementing this pedagogy in their daily work.
We thank TICMAS for sharing their enthusiasm in promoting SSL among the educational community in Argentina.

(*) In 2007, the Ministry of Education included the Solidarity Student Day in the national school calendar to remember the students and the teacher from ECOS school who died in a road accident on their way back from a charity event at the School No. 375 in El Paraisal, in Chaco province. Family members and friends of the victims organized themselves to demand that road safety become a State policy and to reaffirm these tragedies are preventable.
