This project mainly intends to let children partner with the local community to promote the Lagoa João Aranha Park to raise awareness among the population and the government about the importance of valuing heritage, caring for the environment and owning a physical space.
The children carry out a project where they actively participate in actions to embellish the place with graffiti —using special drawing and painting techniques— and mosaics out of plastic bottle caps. In addition, they are developing dissemination campaigns to encourage the community to enjoy this space and collaborate with its care and preservation while demanding the local government to invest in its maintenance and improvement.
During the second year of the project, the institution hosted free public parties and events at the lake. The children made posters, books and videos to raise community awareness about the care of public heritage and environmental preservation and to preserve the identity of the Creche.
