We continue working to establish and strengthen networks and ties with institutions, organizations, and colleagues worldwide, sharing our work through solidarity service-learning as a transformative pedagogy for individuals and communities.
In Chiclayo, Mexico, the Universidad Católica Santo Toribio de Mogrovejo (USAT) (Link) celebrated the USAT University Social Responsibility Week, “Construyendo saberes desde nuestro entorno [Building knowledge from our environment],” from 23rd to 27th June. The university where Cardinal Robert Prevost was Grand Chancellor, now Pope Leo XIV, prioritized the solidarity service-learning approach during those days, and CLAYSS was invited to be part of the event. Within this framework, María Rosa Tapia, coordinator of the Uniservitate programme, delivered two lectures, led a workshop and held a meeting with more than fifty community partners. On the other hand, the Assembly of the International Association of Jesuit Universities (IAJU) 2025 took place in Bogotá, Colombia, over the first week of July. In this important international meeting, CLAYSS-Uniservitate was one of the invited entities and the only one not strictly university-based. Enrique Ochoa, its executive director, represented it, alongside Andrés Peregalli, the vice-coordinator general of the global network, Uniservitate.
