CLAYSS Guides Los Cedros School, in Mexico, to Include Solidarity Service-Learning

In March and April, we carried out a training programme at Cedros International School, in Mexico City, as part of our support to educational institutions interested in developing solidarity service-learning projects (SSL). This initiative is part of our regional work to strengthen pedagogical proposals that merge social engagement with curricular content, promoting a more participatory, inclusive and transformative education.

The activity involved several online training sessions for educators, professors and school authorities, focusing on the theoretical and methodological basics of service-learning, alongside the design and planning of solidarity pedagogical projects. The challenge regarding the design involved exploring examples, exchanging experiences and working with means to implement this pedagogy in the classroom and at an institutional level. The proposal is completed with a specific space for counselling aimed at accompanying the process of integrating solidarity service-learning into the institutional educational project.

We thank the enthusiasm and commitment of the school staff to continue building an education with a solidarity approach.
