On 14th and 18th July, over a hundred professors and academic authorities from La Salle University in Cuernavaca, Mexico, participated in two online training sessions coordinated by Sebastián Puglisi, representing CLAYSS. The proposal for both sessions—one in the morning and the other in the afternoon—focused on the theoretical foundations of solidarity service-learning (SSL), illustrated with inspiring international experiences, and invited participants to imagine institutional initiatives that include this transformative pedagogy in higher education programmes.
The enthusiasm of the faculty was noticeable, and the question and answer session went well beyond the scheduled time, showing a genuine interest in rethinking the social role of the university from within a more equitable, sustainable, and inclusive educational paradigm.
