Service-Learning in Córdoba: A Collective Initiative

On 13th June, the workshop Del aula a la comunidad: la pedagogía del aprendizaje-servicio solidario [From classroom to community: the solidarity service-learning pedagogy] was held in the town of Las Varillas, in the province of Córdoba, Argentina. This training and collaborative event was organized by CLAYSS and Junta de Educación Católica de San Francisco (the Catholic Education Board of San Francisco).

Coordinated by Daniela Gargantini, it brought together more than 30 teachers and administrators from pre-primary, primary and secondary schools in the region, who explored the fundamentals of solidarity service-learning (SSL) as a transformative pedagogical approach.

Participants reflected on their practices and institutional challenges and, collectively designed possible solidarity projects based on the reality of their school communities, using basic conceptual and methodological tools. The activity not only promoted the exchange of experiences but also strengthened the commitment to a more meaningful, participatory education towards the common good.
